A Church like Christ

Welcome to our place!  A place for "those kind of people".  People who are bruised and brokenhearted - either by their own sins or the sins of someone else.  We come to this place so that we can find rest - like the man on the side of the road who was helped by the Samaritan.  We come so that we can heal, and then grow so that eventually we can serve.  You might be involved in pornography, be an alcoholic, struggled with homosexuality or have been involved in an affair - it may be that you are caught in a loveless marriage and you feel like you have no where to turn - no place to rest...Jesus understands!

When Jesus went home and those who were supposed to love him, instead wanted to kill him, it was because of the reading he gave that day in the synagogue.  He read from Isaiah 61 where it says:

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
     because the LORD has anointed me
     to preach good news to the poor.
     He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
     to proclaim freedom for the captives
     and release from darkness for the prisoners,
     to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor
     and the day of vengeance of our God,
     to comfort all who mourn,
     and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
     to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes,
     the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
     and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
     They will be called oaks of righteousness,
     a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.  (NIV)

That was his purpose...and as we strive to be a church of Christ...a church for Christ...and a church like Christ...this is our goal.  If you are broken and need some rest...then you have found the place.  Our motto is "Come as you are".  So come and join us, breathe out so that you can begin to breathe in...and you will find rest for your soul.
